Awards

At Allesley, we are very proud of our school and over the years, we have achieved many awards. Below are a number of our key achievements, and how we gained the awards.

Go4it is a leading national recognised awards process for schools in the UK demonstrating creativity, innovation and an adventure for learning with a positive attitude towards risk. Designed by HTI, Go4it helps schools inspire and challenge students in order to further improve their life chances. Go4it benefits for our school are:
  • empowers teachers to be more innovative   and expand students’ horizons.
  • students regard it as an adventure where they learn “soft” skills, behaviours and attitudes.
  • schools buzz with the excitement as students are motivated to explore new opportunities.
  • success is celebrated within the local community with parents and future employers. The Go4it process can also help schools meet many Ofsted requirements.
  • has an approach to learning that encourages activities and experiences purposefully designed to embrace ‘can-do’ outcomes and is a school that demonstrates it is constantly working to enhance a culture of creativity, positive risk taking and adventure for learning.
  • is buzzing with excitement and activity, providing an environment where achievements are celebrated and promoted throughout the school, community and the press.
  • embraces learning outside the classroom, has stimulating notice boards crammed with pupil learning, events, news, photos and advertisements for clubs and trips so pupils are fully engaged with every aspect of the school.
  • has dynamic and visionary leadership, working in an inclusive way with staff, governors, community members, other schools, students and parents and where leaders are not afraid to be creative with the curriculum to enrich learning
  • is values driven and fully embraces the diverse needs of pupils and community.
  • has a strong student voice.

Allesley Primary has been received funding from the Big Lottery Fund to help us to provide outstanding before and after school care in our Wraparound Club.

Local Food is a £57.5 million programme that Allesley Primary School is participating in. The programme distributes grants to a variety of food-related projects which help make locally grown food accessible to local communities.

Local Food was developed by a consortium of organisations and is managed on their behalf by the Royal Society of Wildlife Trusts (RSWT). The programme will run until December 2014, with all projects having to be completed by March 2014.

Local Food has five main themes under which a range of projects can be supported:

  • Growing food locally Allowing people the opportunity to grow food locally
  • Celebrating cultural diversity Enabling communities to build knowledge and understanding of the cultural diversity of food
  • Social enterprise Stimulating local economic activity through the development of social enterprises related to local food
  • Skills and learning Creating opportunities for learning through volunteering, training and job creation
  • Healthy eating, healthy living Promoting awareness of the links between food and healthy lifestyles.

Charter Mark is the government’s national standard for customer service excellence. It recognises excellence in public service and measures the success of the organisation in delivering exceptionally high quality services to its customer. The award is given by the Cabinet Office following a rigorous assessment. In order to achieve Charter Mark status, Allesley had to demonstrate its ongoing commitment to responding to the needs of all sections of the community.

The National Healthy Schools Programme is an exciting long-term initiative which is making a significant difference to the health and achievement of children and young people. The National Healthy Schools Programme supports the links between health, behaviour and achievement; it is about creating healthy and happy children and young people, who do better in learning and in life.

At Allesley, we want all children and young people to be healthy and achieve at school and in life. We believe that by providing opportunities at school for enhancing emotional and physical health, we will improve long term health, reduce health inequalities, increase social inclusion and raise achievement for all.

ActiveMark Gold is the highest possible award for P.E. and Games and is awarded by Sports England to Primary and Junior Schools who have excellent physical activity provision.

To achieve Active Mark Gold our school had to demonstrate that we recognise the importance of physical activity in helping to keep our children healthy, fit and in raising their self esteem.

We had to prove that :

  • Sufficient time was given to P.E., games, dance and swimming in time table planning.
  • There was a broad and balanced range of activities.
  • We promoted fair play and positive sporting attitudes.
  • There was a wide range of extra curricular activities on offer.
  • We provided opportunities for children to compete against each other and against other schools.
  • We have high expectations of all our pupils whatever their abilities.
  • We provide opportunities for further training in P.E. / Games / Dance etc.

We were proud to receive an Education EXTRA Distinction Award, the highest possible award.

This award recognises the high level of extra curricular activities available for our pupils. It also recognises the importance of the before and after school care we provide with our Wraparound facility.
