Art Competition

My Allesley competition

After the success of last year’s Art for Allesley competition, Mrs Shenton is pleased to announce the latest competition: My Allesley.

This will be a photography competition that the children can enter by taking photos of their favourite places around Allesley Village.  Here are a few ideas:

  • Places of interest, such as the church, historic buildings, school, etc
  • Places they go to play or attend clubs, such as the park, scout hut, etc
  • Signs, post boxes, festival floats, bunting: something that holds a memory for them
  • A place they love to spend time; a house, flats, playhouse, meeting place
  • An outdoor space, such as a park, farm, woods, den, the wedge, etc
  • Take different types of photos, experiment with close ups, different angles, landscape and portrait, photos from a distance, etc

We have asked the children to avoid taking photographs of people that may be identifiable.

The children’s photographs will be used to create a display at the church on 6th July.  The winners of the competition will be announced in assembly during July.  Ideally we would like your photographs to be black and white, but we can alter them in school if necessary.

PRIZES: There will be one overall winner for KS1 and for KS2.  These children will win a camera.  There will be a runner up from each class and these children will be the chance to take part in a photography workshop.

Please do not print out photographs, instead please send it via email to:

CLOSING DATE 14th June 2019

Please ensure your email contains your child’s name and class teacher.  We would appreciate it if your child could write a short explanation of where their picture was taken and why they chose that spot, this can be typed into the email (ideally about 50 words).

We are looking forward to seeing the children’s photographs and displaying them in the church during the Art Exhibition.  Thank you once again for your continued support.
