MATHS

Please read this, Year 5.

Following the last 2 days Maths lessons, it has become apparent that some of you are finding fractions really difficult - both at home and in school.  The lessons are incredibly tricky and have gone from being 'just manageable' for some of you, to suddenly being extremely difficult.  So, today, although I have left the planned lessons up on this page - there is no expectation that you do that lesson, if you have found it hard.

PLEASE DO NOT WORRY IF YOU ARE STRUGGLING - FRACTIONS ARE HARD IF YOU DON'T GET IT!!

We will revisit fractions again, all together, when we are back in school. I don't want anybody being upset or worried that they don't understand it.

Instead - I am putting some My Maths pages up - starting with a Year 3 lesson on the basics of fractions, if you think this will help you.  Please go back and have a look if you need to and if you think it will help your confidence.  I am also putting a Year 4/5 lesson up - it is one we have done before - but I think you need to revisit and embed your knowledge.

But remember - do not worry about anything - we will sort it in a couple of weeks, when we are back in school.

Well done for having a go, everyone - it is really hard! smileyheart

PSHE - Activity 1 - Spending Wisely. With an adult, if possible, discuss the questions and then read each of the scenarios. How would you advise Jack in each situation?

ART
Hopefully, you have all collected some bits and bobs to make your Family Flag  this afternoon.

If you need to, refer back to the video on Monday afternoon to show you some inspiration!  However, I think you will have given it lots of thought as you were collecting items and are ready to go.

If you have not collected anything, you wlll need to design and draw your flags.  Remember - they need to represent your family!

Have fun!
