This is the page for Year Four children and their parents. On here, you will find information, links and websites that will help you and your child with their learning.

PE day is a Tuesday, when your child should come to school wearing their school PE kit.

Any dates for yoga sessions will be sent in a separate message via MCAS.

How you can help your child?

Times tables are learnt best when practised regularly and in short bursts. Here at Allesley Primary School, we use Time Tables Rock Stars along with other resources to help us learn our multiplication tables in a fun way!  You can log on to your TTR account here:

All of the children have a range of activities to do on Spelling Shed. A new one is available every Monday and should match the spellings they have been asked to learn. In addition, every child has a sheet to complete in their pink spelling books.

In year 4, the following homework will be given out weekly:

Maths homework – please make sure you log on to Times Tables Rockstars and practise your multiplication tables for 10-15 minutes, at least 3 times per week: https://play.ttrockstars.com/auth/ A ‘challenge’ is also set for you every couple of weeks!

On a Monday, we will give you some ‘PALS’ Maths Homework to complete. You should do as much of this as you can. You can also make it trickier for yourself if they wish!

Spellings – to be given out and posted below each Monday, with a spelling test taking place in school the following Monda.

Reading – all children to read for at least 10-15 minutes a minimum of 3 times per week at home and to get their reading diaries signed by an adult. – This is REALLY important!

If you are at home, but well enough to access some learning, please complete the following tasks:

• Log on to Times Tables Rockstars daily to practise your multiplication and division facts: https://play.ttrockstars.com/auth
• Make sure you spend some time each day reading
• Practise your spellings and apply your learning by putting them into your own sentences. Use a dictionary to check the definition of any words you are unsure of
