Friday 9th July
We are very sad that we can't all be in school together at the moment but we look forward to having lots of fun when we are back for our last few days in Reception.
We will not be uploading home learning for each day but have set out below some ideas of things that you might like to do at home over the next week to keep yourselves busy.
Creating a non-fiction book
As we had such a fantastic time meeting Julio and Callie - the alpacas, on Monday, you might like to draw or paint a picture of them and write about what we learnt or maybe create your own non-fiction book about them setting out lots of the facts that we now know! We would love to see these when we return to school!
Being a storyteller
In school we have been using our imaginations to think about our own stories and where they might take place and who the characters might be. We have been talking about story settings such as; the woods, in space, a castle, under the sea and on a treasure island. Can you use your imagination to write your own story? You might like to write a sentence each day. Think about the beginning, what might happen in the middle and how to end your story. We can't wait to share your wonderful stories when we are back in school!
Drawing a picture of yourself
It would be lovely if you could draw a picture of yourself on an A4 piece of paper enjoying your favourite activity in Reception this year. It might be playing in the sand area, making and creating, playing with your friends, climbing on our 'Fun Fitness', enjoying Sport's Day or anything you like! You might like to write a sentence about it too. Please can you bring these into school with you when we return and we can add them to your school reports! Many thanks.
Sport's Day activities
You might like to practice some of the activities that we had lots of fun doing for our Sport's Day at home in your garden, such as throwing beanbags (or rolled up socks!) into a hoop, bucket or something similar! Doing an obstacle race, practising your running or throwing, balancing a ball on a racket or bat or maybe practising your warm up exercises, dancing and yoga!
You might like to watch our next 'Numberblocks' episode below which is all about the Numberblocks going on a castle-exploring adventure.
Finally, please continue to practice your sounds for phonics by watching the PowerPoints below, practice your words and share your reading books. You may also like to use our letter formation rhymes to practice carefully forming your letters and our number rhymes to practice writing your numbers correctly.
Many thanks for all your continuing support.
We can't wait to see you all again soon. Take care and stay safe.
Lots of love Miss Geen, Mrs Cash, Mrs Shenton, Miss Knight and Mrs Doherty. xxxxx
We have uploaded a Powerpoint on Stream below to say a big 'Welcome back!' to the children and provide a few details about returning to school next week. We look forward to seeing you all on Monday! Take care.
